Safe Transportation for Seniors with Mobility Challenges

For seniors with mobility challenges, getting out of the house can be the hardest part of the day. Standard cars are difficult to enter, and family members can't always take time off work to drive.
The Risks of Staying Home
When transportation becomes a barrier, seniors stay home — and isolation, inactivity, and declining health often follow. Missed medical appointments and skipped social activities accelerate both physical and cognitive decline.
What Accessible Transportation Looks Like
Active Life Adult Medical Day Center operates wheelchair-lift-equipped vans with trained drivers who assist participants from their front door, into the vehicle, and safely inside the center. Vehicles are climate-controlled and designed for walkers, wheelchairs, and limited mobility.
Coverage Across Baltimore County
Our routes serve Essex, Middle River, Dundalk, Rosedale, and surrounding neighborhoods. Best of all, for Maryland Medicaid participants, this door-to-door transportation is included at no cost.
Reliable, accessible transportation is often the missing link that allows a senior to thrive in adult day care instead of sitting home alone.
